Spiritually Adopt An Unborn Child
Members of Holy Spirit Parish will have the opportunity, again this year, to “Spiritually Adopt” a child who will be conceived in January 2016. Not all newly conceived babies are allowed to be born. In fact, more than 3200 babies lose their lives in the U.S.A. every day to abortion. It is these babies you are being asked to “spiritually adopt”. You may adopt a child individually or as a family. You will have the opportunity to name the child for whom you will be praying for and will commit to praying for this child and his/her parents daily. The power of prayer is great. Your prayers can give the gift of life. This project will run from January 10th through October 2, 2016 – which is Respect Life Sunday. You may start this project at any time during this period. If you would like to fill out a Pledge/Prayer Card click on the link below, print it out and return the bottom portion in the collection basket during the coming weeks. You keep the top prayer part. Pledge/Prayer cards are also available at both IC and St. Agnes churches. You will get to see monthly updates on your “Spiritual Baby’s” progress on the parish website, on the parish Facebook page and in the vestibules of both churches. Just click on the month below to see the update. Since the project started in January 2016, Jan. 10th would be Day 1. February 10th would be Month 1, March 10th would be Month 2, etc. You will be invited to attend a “Baby Shower” in September, and attendees will be asked to bring a baby gift for charity. Please consider participating in this project – really all you have to do is “PRAY”. Questions about this project may be directed to any Stewardship Committee Member or Father Orr.
